To show the love of Jesus to each child and parent and to provide learning experiences in a safe, fun and Christ centered environment.
Philosophy and Commitment:
Children are precious. It is our desire to create an environment for children that teaches the Christian values of honesty, respect, love and integrity along with developmentally appropriate learning and play activities. By recognizing different temperaments and learning styles, by challenging and encouraging, by nurturing and developing, and by working as a team, we will help them grow in their identity, self-esteem, and dignity.
History:
The Seventh-day Adventist church has a long and rich history of education. We are committed to the training of young people for a productive life here and for a life with Jesus in heaven. The La Grande Adventist School built and moved to its present location in 1975. Because of declining enrollment and an increased need for the care of young children, it was decided in the spring of 2006 to use a classroom in the school and open a childcare center. Little Friends was open to childcare in the fall of that same year. In September of 2008 Little Friends added a preschool program. Currently the La Grande Adventist School is an educational opportunity for children ages 3 through 8th grade.
